DAB digital radio is free to listen to and there are no monthly subscriptions.
The two national multiplex operators are Digital
One and the BBC. Digital One
has a coverage area of more than 85% of the UK population, and the
BBC currently reaches around 80%.
Local stations are also available in many areas depending on
your location.

The BBC's FM, Medium Wave and Long Wave services can
now be heard in digital quality across the UK.
In 2002 the BBC launched 5 new digital radio services.
These include BBC Five Live Sports Extra, BBC 6 Music,
1Xtra, BBC Asian Network and BBC 7.
3 national favourites, plus 1 digital only station.
Digital One services can be found on multiplex channel
11D in England & Wales and channel 12A in Scotland.
